HOW THIS RESULT WAS BUILTDeterministic calculationEngine calculator-core-1.0.0

Method: FCR divides feed consumed by net biomass gain. PER divides biomass gain by protein consumed. Cost per kg gain divides total feed cost by biomass gain.

Inputs used: Currency = INR; Total feed consumed = 1,200 kg; Starting biomass = 100 kg; Final biomass = 1,000 kg; Feed protein = 32 %; Feed price = 50 per kg

Assumptions: The result uses the values, units and options shown in the input snapshot.

Scope and warnings: Planning tool only. Monitor water quality and animal behaviour, validate species-specific limits and follow the direction of a qualified aquaculture professional before changing stocking, feed, aeration or water chemistry. Rounding and excluded real-world terms can make an external result differ.

UNDERSTAND THE RESULT

How this fish fcr and feed efficiency calculator works

FCR divides feed consumed by net biomass gain. PER divides biomass gain by protein consumed. Cost per kg gain divides total feed cost by biomass gain.

A worked example

1,200 kg feed producing 900 kg net gain has an FCR of 1.333.

Why can farm FCR differ?

Feed records, mortality, sampling, spillage, water quality, genetics and harvest timing all affect the figure. Compare periods with consistent measurement methods.

Calculations run on your device. Review your results before exporting or sharing them.

Use consistent beginning and ending biomass

Net gain is final biomass less starting biomass. FCR improves only when feed records and biomass estimates cover the same period and account for losses.

Do not compare FCR across farms without matching species, size range, feed basis, mortality treatment and harvest method.
