TDEE calculator.
Explore total daily energy expenditure and the effect of activity assumptions.
TDEE inputs
No weight-loss target is prescribed. Health conditions, training and body composition can affect energy needs.
Adult estimate, not a measured metabolic rate or a calorie prescription. Equation coefficient: female. Activity multipliers are rough assumptions and can over- or underestimate individual needs. Not for pregnancy, breastfeeding or people under 18.
How this tdee calculator works
TDEE includes energy used at rest and through daily activity. The multiplier approach is an approximation, not a measurement of exercise calories. Choose a factor reflecting your usual whole day, rather than adding a workout twice.
A worked example
An estimated resting expenditure of 1,500 kcal/day becomes 1,800 at factor 1.2 or 2,325 at factor 1.55. The difference illustrates how strongly the assumed activity affects the result.
Should I add my watch exercise calories?
Not automatically. The chosen activity multiplier already includes an allowance for activity. Adding the same exercise again may double-count it; wearable energy estimates also have uncertainty.
