How this electricity consumption calculator works

Energy equals power multiplied by operating time. The tool converts watts to kilowatts, multiplies by appliance count, hours per day and days, then applies the tariff you enter. It keeps energy and money separate.

A worked example

A 100 W appliance running 8 hours daily for 30 days uses 24 kWh. At ₹8 per kWh, the variable energy charge is ₹192 before fixed charges, slabs, duties or taxes.

Why can the bill differ from this estimate?

Real bills may use slab tariffs, fixed charges, taxes, demand charges and meter periods. Appliance power can also cycle. Enter measured average watts when available and compare the result with a recent bill.

Measure time as carefully as power

For appliances that cycle, use average measured power or reduce the equivalent running hours. Build separate calculations for materially different appliances, then add their kWh rather than averaging incompatible wattages.
