How this gpa calculator works
Each course contributes grade points multiplied by credit hours. Divide total quality points by graded credits for term GPA. Cumulative GPA combines the term with your previously completed credits and GPA, rather than averaging the two GPAs equally.
A worked example
An A worth 4 points in a 3-credit course and a B worth 3 points in another 3-credit course give (12 + 9)/6 = 3.5. A course with more credits has more influence.
Will this match every school transcript?
This uses an unweighted US 4.0 scale with A+ equal to 4.0. Institutions differ on plus/minus grades, repeats and exclusions. Remove pass/fail or withdrawn courses and confirm your school rules.
