GST calculator.
Add or remove GST and see the CGST plus SGST/UTGST or IGST breakdown for a rate you enter.
GST inputs
The rate is an example. Confirm the applicable rate and tax treatment for your supply.
User-selected intra-state/UT split: equal CGST and SGST. This tool calculates tax from your entered rate; it does not classify goods, determine place of supply, or calculate cess or input tax credit. Displayed components are rounded independently.
How this gst calculator works
For an exclusive price, GST equals base amount × rate / 100. For an inclusive price, recover the taxable amount by dividing the total by 1 + rate / 100. The split follows the tax treatment you select: equal central and state/UT components, or an integrated component.
A worked example
For a 1,000 taxable amount at an illustrative 18% rate, GST is 180 and the inclusive total is 1,180. Removing 18% GST from 1,180 returns 1,000, not 967.60. In the equal split, each component is 90.
Does this determine the correct GST rate or supply classification?
No. Enter the applicable rate and confirm place-of-supply and other tax rules yourself. This arithmetic tool does not identify HSN/SAC classifications, handle special supplies, calculate cess, or determine input tax credit eligibility. Display rounding may leave a one-paise component difference.
